Scissor Kitchen Knife
This knife was made out of six bars of pattern welded material. Five of the six bars are 7 layers of 15n20 and 1075, while the second from the spine is made of high carbon scissors provided by the client. The client is a barber, and these are the scissors he learned to cut hair with years ago.
The scissors were forge welded together and then folded up into a small packet, then assembled into a composite blade with other twists I had prepared. The handle was made from applewood harvested from the clients property. The bone bolster was stabilized so that the marrow is visible through the front of the handle.
The shape is roughly based on a Japanese Santoku pattern kitchen knife and is quite thin and fairly flexible.
