I have had a life-long fascination with the sword. It is a symbolic object that transcends both culture and time. Almost every civilization with the ability to work metal has created this tool in one form or another. The Aztecs and Egyptians, the Celts, the Romans, and the Japanese all found different answers to the same question. Blacksmiths were revered in their societies, but just as often shunned for the elemental magic they controlled. Metal working is a powerful and primal alchemy that has allowed us to progress and create the foundations of modern society.

The kind of knowledge I have absorbed on this path can be described as bone-knowing, and with each new piece I forge my understanding of the material and the process behind shaping it grows deeper. Form, function, weight, material, mass distribution and more all have to work together in perfect harmony in order to create a whole.
