Bloom Kitchen Knife Set
These two knives are made from a single bar of hearth refined bloomery iron that I made with my friend Mark Green. He had smelted the iron from North Carolina ore and we later remelted the pieces together in a hearth.
They are made of the same steel with similar water buffalo and maple handles. Both are highly polished revealing the activity in the steel and the nature of the folding.
Both were water hardened and are at around 57-58 RC.
The paring knife is just under an ounce, at .97 oz and has a 3.25 inch blade.
The chef weighs 3.75 oz with a 6.5 inch blade.
