Caliper Kitchen Knife

This knife is a beautiful heirloom piece made to commemorate family. The calipers pictured below belonged to the clients grandfather. They were cut apart and forged into bars before being welded to modern steel to create a beautiful patterned blade.

The handle is made of African Blackwood provided by the client. It is a robust powerful material that polishes nicely and feels comfortable even when wet.

The finished piece features a strong yet flexible blade with a fairly thick tang, allowing for an interesting balance where the blade glides through material while feeling weightless.
