Migration Period Sword
This sword is based on examples from the Germanic migration period, running from near the end of the roman empire to the beginning of the viking age. The dates are contested slightly, but approximate dates of 100-800 AD are generally considered acceptable.
This sword is made of 1075 high carbon steel hand forged and ground, later hilted with copper, blackwood, and black walnut. Swords of this type are often well preserved and have bronze pommel caps, though I have reason to believe that organic pommel caps did exist.
