Pleidelsheim Sword

This piece is based on a German sword from the Vendel period. The original has a slightly hexagonal grip with gold foil wrapped over one side. The blade is about the same length with a forged fuller running almost the full length of the blade. The edges are around 300 layers of steel with three twisted and countertwisted bars in the central part of the fuller. The handle is maple with blackwood guards and a wrought iron peen block.
