Sam Salvati Kitchen Knife

Another person whose work immediately caught my attention was Sam Salvati. He is a classically trained blacksmith whose passion is absolutely contagious. He effortlessly transfers back and forth between blacksmithing and bladesmithing and makes, among many other things, beautifully proportioned bowie knives and kitchen knives. At a conference he gave me one of the blades he had rough forged with the promise that I would finish it.

Here it is finished with water buffalo horn and quilted maple.
