Petersen Type O

Ritually destroyed swords have been found in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and other European countries. The reason for their destruction is unknown, though there is a possibility it was to deny a dead man with his weapon when he reached Valhalla. This particular sword is a recreation of a Norwegian find.

These blades fascinate me and to me are now art objects as opposed to functional swords. Some are bent lazily in a fire like this one, while others are twisted and curled around themselves, a beautiful end for a powerful object.
