Zoomorphic Seax
This was forged during a class at NESM as a demo piece. The class was focused in making historical knives based on original artifacts and this piece was meant to fairly representative of the style. The blade is made from 7 different bars of metal manipulated and folded to create the pattern, from top to bottom there is iron, four twists wit three different patterns, more iron, and an edge with 480 layers of steel. The bolster is made from moose antler with maple for the handle and a brass rivet block. The leather sheath is tooled with several zoomorphic designs morphed together and brass details.
